What Are Kegels, And Why Should You Do Them?
Ever struggled with getting a good boner?
If it happens occasionally, it’s not a big deal.
Maybe you had a bad night’s sleep. Maybe you’re black-out drunk. Maybe you’ve overtrained your penis, or you had so much sex that your dick is asking for a break.
And that’s cool, that’s cool.
But if you cannot remember the last time you had an erection that was throbbing so strongly it was almost painful, your veins pulsating, then you might have been neglecting your pelvic floor muscles.
The beautiful thing? It’s easy to fix.
Enter kegels.
Kegels are a simple exercise for your pelvic floor. In essence, you squeeze these muscles, either just a quick squeeze or a longer one.
Now, a lot of articles on the web focus on these as the cure-all for erectile dysfunction related to weakness of the pelvic floor. But that’s only half the picture.
Why Kegels Are Not Enough
Imagine you only did bench presses at the gym. You’d be developing the muscles in your chest while neglecting the muscles in the back. That’d lead to muscular imbalances, cause injury, and prevent optimal performance. You’d need something for your upper back, like barbell rows, to even it out.
Your pelvic floor works the same: For optimal development, you need an opposite movement, the row to your kegel.
These are called reverse kegels. If all you ever do is squeeze squeeze squeeze, your muscles can tighten up and lead to hypertonia, a chronically tensed state of your pelvic floor muscles. Tensing your pelvic floor muscles can lead to faster climaxing, and now you have the opposite problem: Instead of erectile dysfunction, you have to deal with premature ejaculation. Congratulations! You’ve traded one problem for another.
To make sure that doesn’t happen, you have to incorporate both movements into your routine.
Up until now, I’ve only told you WHAT do you.
Why You Should Do Kegels
Check out this awesome list of benefits that kegels give you.
-
Better orgasm control
You may have already noticed that your pelvic floor tenses and relaxes along with the state of your erection. Very simplified: The harder you get, the more your pelvic floor tenses up.
Once you climax, the muscles contract and release in a spasmodic fashion. Because they usually tense up without any conscious thought on your part, the better your voluntary control over these muscles, the better your control over your orgasm.
Although that’s only part of the picture and you’ll need some dedicated edging or Fleshlight practice, kegels alone can get you a long way.
-
Stronger orgasms
Do I really need to explain to you why that’s a good thing? Just imagine what it’d feel like if your orgasm was twice as strong as it is now. Yeah, I could stop right there. If THAT doesn’t make you want to do kegels, I don’t know what will.
-
More impressive orgasms
What? Isn’t that the same as above? Nah, amigo: What I mean is that now, when you cum, you will actually SHOOT your sperm out of your cock, and you’ll shoot MORE. No more dribbling out like a leaky faucet; instead, you’ll soak your partner from top to bottom.
-
More boners
I’ll admit, it isn’t always nice to get a boner out of nowhere, but it’s a quality problem, really. It beats looking down at your flaccid dong, wondering when the last time was you got hard without touching yourself.
-
Shorter recovery period
The recovery period is how long it takes for you to get hard again after ejaculating.
Common knowledge tells you that this gets longer the older you get, but that’s false: Most men just don’t train their pelvic floor muscles, which is why they experience this and the other problems associated with a weak pelvic floor.
So, if you train your PC muscle, you’ll be able to go a few more times in a row than before.
-
Multiple orgasms
I’m still training on this one, because it takes insane pelvic floor strength. I might write an article on this once I’ve mastered it and feel competent enough to write a detailed description.
However, the basic gist of it is this: At the brink of orgasm, you hold a strong kegel contraction. I’m not sure about the science behind it, but you’ll be able to hold back the ejaculation while experiencing the feeling of an orgasm. Basically, orgasm without shooting sperm.
I’ve done this a few times while using the Fleshlight STU, but am not consistent yet. I also believe it’s going to be balls-to-the-walls difficult to pull off in the heat of the moment with a partner, but hey, shoot for the stars and so on, right?
All in all, that’s a pretty impressive list, isn’t it? And the best part is, it doesn’t even take a long time, just a couple of minutes a day.
Hopefully I’ve given you a few good reasons to start training your pelvic floor. If you’re ready and raring to go, I’ve written up a guide on how to do kegels, along with a routine you can follow. Check it out.
P.S. Once your pelvic floor is up to the challenge, you want to take it a step further and start edging. There is no better device to do so than the Fleshlight Stamina Training Unit. It feels like a real vagina and even makes it fun!
