It’s a case of erectile exaggeration.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, who famously ripped the medical community over breast implant myths last summer, is back with another body part bombshell — that men’s penis sizes are exaggerated in studies. A video of his manhood myth-busting currently boasts more than 430,000 views on TikTok.
“The average length may be shorter than you think!” reads the caption to the revelatory clip, which Youn posted Tuesday in response to another video in which a woman said she preferred the “average length” of 5 inches to something bigger.
“Studies show that the average length of a man’s erect junk is 5.15 inches,” explained the TikTok doc, who has over 7.3 million followers on the platform. “But the real length is probably less than that because most men with small wieners probably wouldn’t consent to being involved in those studies.”
The cheeky plastic surgeon concluded the video with a jab at fellow social media physician Richard J. Brown — who goes by @TheRealTikTokDoc — writing that the statistic “means Dr. Ricky Brown probably isn’t in the first percentile like he thinks, but probably more like the fifth.”

Suffice it to say, the phallic factoid had social media rolling.
“Omg… please say ‘erect junk’ more … that caught me off guard. I wheeze laughed,” wrote one fan in the comments.

Another added, “I feel better about myself now thank you,” to which Youn replied, “You’re welcome.”
“You’re right i did not consent partake in those studies,” joked one TikTok wit, insinuating that he sported a tiny tallywacker.
Youn — who also went viral in September after revealing why people should never sleep in the nude — doesn’t directly mention the research he’s citing in the clip. However, a 2019 survey of sexually active college students found that the average “self-reported erect penis length” (6.62 inches) was “greater than found in previous studies in which researchers took measurements.”
That seemed to suggest “that many of the men embellished their responses,” per the research. It also perhaps throws a monkey wrench into a 2016 study that found that men’s penis sizes, particularly among millennials, are getting bigger.
Thankfully, that means a potential sexual partner apparently no longer needs to wait until hanky-panky to discover their date’s dimensions. In a viral video from October, fellow TikTok doctor Karan Rajan described how one can measure a guy’s manhood by simply glancing at his hands.
