Micro-penis (micropenia) – is when the penis of a man is unusually small, and it gets in a way of having a full sexual life. 2% of male population has this problem.
MICRO-PENIS SYNDROM
As a result of fetal abnormalities or serious testicular abnormalities, male sexual organs may stay inadequately developed. Such state as micro-penis is not normal and is characterized by small size of a penis. The penis is so small that it's impossible to have a sexual act.
The Micro-penis syndrome (the official name) is a serious pathology and requires timely treatment.
The micropenia is determined by the size of the penis, 2-3 times smaller than the minimum threshold of norm.
A normal penis is considered longer than 8cm in length. Micro-penis is a penis that is about 2-3 cm.
- Lowering of intrauterine production of androgens;
- Pathological growth hormone deficiency;
- Defects in testosterone and dihydrotestosterone synthesis;
- Chromosomal disorders that lead to changes in the work of sexual glands.
The hypogonadism means underdeveloped testicles. It happens due to changes in the synthesis of sex hormones and entails testosterone deficiency during puberty.
Do not confuse the meaning of micro-penis with a small penis.
The micro-penis is determined by sizes not more than 3 cm, while the small penis is sizes 4-8 cm.
Also, we should mention that a penis larger than 10 cm is a physiological norm, so there are no medical indications for penis enlargement surgery.
